Targeted repairs for missing shingles, damaged flashing, and worn penetrations — fixing the problem without overselling a new roof.
Not every roof problem calls for a replacement, and a contractor who says otherwise before climbing a ladder is guessing. Most leaks trace back to a handful of failure points: cracked pipe-boot flashing, missing or wind-lifted shingles, deteriorated valley metal, or nail pops that have worked through the surface. Skilled repair means finding the true entry point — which is often several feet uphill from where the stain shows on your ceiling.
Every repair visit in Cleveland starts with photos of what we found, so you can see the damage without getting on the roof yourself. If a repair will genuinely extend your roof's life, that is what we recommend — OH homeowners come back to us at replacement time precisely because we did not push one prematurely.

Heat escaping into an under-ventilated attic melts the lake-effect snowpack from below; the meltwater refreezes at the cold eave and backs up under the shingles. We fix the cause — air sealing, insulation, and ventilation — and install ice-and-water shield at the eaves so any melt that does occur can’t get inside. Chipping ice every February is not a plan.
Most of Cleveland’s early-1900s housing stock was framed generously, but decades of added roof layers, sagging rafters, or rotted decking change the math. We inspect the structure from the attic side, tell you what the framing can genuinely carry, and address any decking rot during replacement rather than covering it up.
Late spring through early fall is ideal, because shingle sealant strips need warmth to bond before the Erie winds test them. That said, we do emergency winter work all season — a failed roof can’t wait for June. If you know your roof is marginal, booking before the first lake-effect band arrives saves real money and stress.
